Memory foam mattress toppers are a wonderful addition to any mattress. They are great for making your existing mattress a bit more comfortable and can breathe new life into an old mattress.
The memory foam absorbs excess movement, thereby reducing disturbances, which means a better night’s sleep. It also offers brilliant pressure point relief, especially at pressure points such as the shoulders & hips.
The topper is covered in a luxurious 280 gsm knitted fabric with an added filament yarn called “Intense”.
How “Intense” works:
In the course of the night, the body is in constant contact with various materials such as pyjamas and sheets. Both the body and the materials are charged with up to 30000 volts of static electricity. If we truly want peaceful sleep, we need to rid ourselves of the tension. Intense offers a solution to this problem. The Intense material uses ultra-fine, multifilament carbon fibre thread.
Each filament contains a conductive trilobal core wrapped in a protective nylon envelope.
The carbon filament captures the electrons in the surrounding material and releases them into the air at low voltage (from 4000 volts). The tension literally flows away from the body, achieving a lower/stable Cortisol level for deeper, more relaxing sleep

Although a mattress topper cannot compensate for a worn mattress beneath it, it can certainly make a difference where the requirement is to provide better support for larger person. The mattress on our spare bed was rated for about 80 to 90 kg and to accommodate our big son on a short visit we were faced with either having to purchase a new mattress or find a way to give the bed better support for his 115 kg. On finding the cost of suitable mattress, we were a bit nervous that by spending less on a mattress topper, we might be wasting money if it could not perform as required. There are less expensive toppers, but this one is definitely worth the money. It saved us over R2000 on the cost of a new mattress and our son is very satisfied with it.

This is a good quality mattress topper that adds a lot of extra cushion. It makes a hard mattress much more bearable. It’s easier on the back and comfortably shapes to the body form. We’ve been using it for about a week and so far so good. It would be better if it were a bit thicker for heavier bodies.
